Mantou(饅頭) is steamed leavened bread. It is a common breakfast food throughout China, especially in northern China where it is a traditional part of Lu cuisine.

- 2 cup all-purpose wheat flour
- 1 tbsp yeast
- ¾ – 1 cup water
Directions
- combine flour, yeast
- gradually mix in water until combined
- cover and let rise 1 hour
- knead and roll into log
- divide into 8 pieces
- shape into balls (optional)
- steam 15 minutes
- serve
