Kachin Cuisine
Kachin cuisine or Jingpo cuisine is the food culture of the Kachin or Jingpo people, mainly in Kachin State of Myanmar and neighboring areas such as western Yunnan Province of China. Kachin cuisine tends to be very aromatic, using lots of herbs and leaves.
The Kachin people are related to the Burmese people. Their languages are also closely related. Jingpo or Kachin is the language of the Kachin people.
Myitkyina is a central city.
Ingredients
Rice is a staple food.
Many types of herbs are used such as praew[rau ram], coriander, and lemon basil. Tea leaves are used like an herb. Garlic, shallot, and chili are commonly used.
River fish and chicken are the most common types of meat.
